Are communian and imposition of ashes done at the same time

We received the following direction from the Diocese regarding the imposition of ashes: “After consultation with Public Health, we have been advised that the Imposition of Ashes during the Ash Wednesday Liturgy may proceed as per usual practice (marking the forehead).
